Dickinson State suffers first conference loss in 31-10 defeat to Rocky Mountain
DICKINSON —Dickinson State got a second chance to punt in the first quarter Saturday, but it didn't go as planned for the Blue Hawks. A penalty for running into the punter gave DSU another attempt, but Gage Goltz returned the re-kick 81 yards for a touchdown. The play foreshadowed an afternoon of missed opportunities and mistakes as Rocky Mountain handed the Blue Hawks a 31-10 loss at the Biesiot Activities Center. Dickinson State found success through the air, with quarterback Hudsen Grovom throwing for 307 yards, but a few turnovers and missed chances in the red zone kept the Blue Hawks from any chance of a comeback. The loss was DSU's first in Frontier Conference play, dropping it to 2-1 in the Frontier East standings. Rocky Mountain improved to 2-0.
