Sausalito police arrested an alleged speeder after a pursuit on the Golden Gate Bridge. An officer spotted the vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on southbound Highway 101 approaching the bridge, Sausalito police Capt. Brian Mather said. The vehicle lacked license plates, he said. Officers pursued the vehicle onto the bridge, where the driver exceeded 80 mph and passed several vehicles, Mather said. The suspect pulled over near the toll plaza and officers arrested him. Darien Anthony Nelson, 38, of San Francisco was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of evading officers, speeding and driving without license plates. His bail was set at $35,000. Nelson posted bail and could not be reached for comment Monday.
