Volkswagen workers threaten strikes unless carmaker reverses labour deal cancellations
FRANKFURT, Oct 23 (Reuters) Labour leaders on Friday threatened strikes at Volkswagen from January unless it reverses the recent cancellation of several wage deals by the end of October, making a full-escalation of labour disputes at Europe s top automaker more likely. Thorsten Groeger of trade union IG Metall said unions would prepare for industrial action a term usually covering strikes unless Volkswagen rows back. A truce that rules out strikes at the automaker expires on January 1, 2027. (Reporting by Christoph SteitzEditing by Ludwig Burger)
